Susan Header
Susan 2

As far back as Susan can remember, there was music in her life. Although originally from Virginia, her musical roots are not those of the bluegrass player, but those of the classical musician. Susan began playing the violin when she was 5 years old, and played classically until the age of 17, when she realized that there was very little music in what she was doing. She moved on to study classical voice and received a BA in music education at Ithaca College. After teaching in New York for a year, Susan got married, moved to Canada and began teaching music in Durham. In 2002, Susan met Wanda, and something miraculous happened - she discovered how truly wonderful it is to be a musician- not just a singer or a player. And at that point, music saved Susan's mortal soul. She hasn't looked back since. Susan's main musical influences are classical music, 70's rock, east coast and southern fiddle tunes, blues and bluegrass. She loves the great rock jammers and harmonizers like the Allman Brothers, Eagles, Kansas and Yes; as well as a growing hodge- podge of fiddlers and mandolin players. If Susan could pinpoint one goal, it would be to always have music as a living, driving force in her life and never never never forget how to have fun with it. And yes, Susan would like to be able to play cleanly after a few drinks.

I wonder what it was like before the universe expanded, and twisting, hurling matter became a tiny, beating heart...
